Coffee Shops in Goodyear AZ: A Coffee-Run Guide from La Privada

Friends enjoying coffee at a local coffee shop

If you want to live in La Privada, you might want to know where the nearest coffee shops in Goodyear, AZ are.

September 29 is National Coffee Day, and October 1 is International Coffee Day. That makes this a two-cup kind of week, and a good excuse to talk about something buyers look for when picking the right neighborhood: where are the closest restaurants? coffee shops? shopping? and more!

The Best Coffee Shops In Goodyear: A Place For Every Occasion

It sounds like a small thing, but it isn’t. The coffee run is a pretty honest test of a neighborhood. If your latte is five minutes away, your groceries, your kid’s school, and your freeway on-ramp usually are too. So we mapped out the coffee runs around La Privada, our new community of single-story homes near Yuma Road and 183rd Avenue in Goodyear. Here’s what everyday life looks like, one cup at a time. ☕️

The Everyday Cup: Under 5 Minutes From La Privada in Goodyear

Black Rock Coffee Bar on Yuma Road is about a mile and a half from La Privada and the closest coffee shop in Goodyear to the community. It opens at 5 a.m. every day and has a drive-thru that moves fast, which is exactly what you need on a Monday.

Keep heading east to Cotton Lane and you’re at Canyon Trails Towne Center (about 2 miles). That’s where you’ll handle most of your weekly errands. There’s a Target, a Starbucks, and dinner options like Ah-Hai Sushi & Grill and Garden Pizza, a local favorite for pizza night. A little farther down Yuma Road sits Fry’s Marketplace (about 2.5 miles), which has a Starbucks inside. That’s groceries and a latte in one stop.

Best Coffee Shop For The School-Run Cup

Grab your coffee to go, because school drop-off is close. Estrella Foothills High School and Liberty Elementary School are both less than 10 miles away (south of La Privada). La Privada homes also mean a new home near BASIS Goodyear, the #1 ranked high school in Phoenix area, about 4 miles away. This area also has plenty of other public and charter options.

After drop-off, the parks are just as close:

  • President’s Park (about 1 mile) is a shaded neighborhood park with plenty of swings, an open field, and fitness stations for parents.
  • Goodyear Recreation Campus (about 3.5 miles) has two zip lines, ball fields, and basketball and volleyball courts. It’s the kind of park kids beg to go back to.

The Commuter Cup: Best Coffee Shop In Goodyear For The Commute

If your coffee is a travel mug on the way to work, La Privada makes that easy. Loop 303 and I-10 are about 2 miles away. That gives you a straight shot east toward Phoenix, or quick access to the major employers along the West Valley corridor, including Amazon, Boeing, Chewy and Microsoft. Downtown Phoenix is roughly 30 miles away, so plan on about 30 to 40 minutes outside peak traffic.

For early shifts, the Dutch Bros on Estrella Parkway, just off I-10, is open 24 hours.

Best Coffee Shops In Goodyear To Linger-Longer

Some mornings call for a table, not a drive-thru. That’s where Goodyear’s local coffee shops come in.

  • Enroute Coffee & Tea (about 4.5 miles) is a busy local favorite with a full food menu. It also stocks goods from local makers, like candles, jewelry and jams, so a coffee run can easily turn into some shopping.
  • Hermoso Cariño Coffee Co. is a family-owned shop in the same center. It’s known for creative drinks and seasonal treats.
  • When coffee turns into dinner, Saddle Mountain Brewing Company is right around the corner. Safeway and ALDI are nearby on Estrella Parkway, so you can pick up groceries on the way home.
  • House of Honey on McDowell Road (about 7 miles) was started by a family of beekeepers and uses real honey in its drinks. Trader Joe’s and WinCo are in the same stretch.

And come February, Goodyear Ballpark (about 4 miles) hosts spring training for the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds. That’s one more reason to fill a thermos.

The Weekend Cup: Coffee Shops In Goodyear For Weekend Exploration

  • Cafe Bebida at Estrella Mountain Ranch (about 7.5 miles) has a breezy patio, cornhole on the lawn, mountain views, and trails right nearby. Get your coffee, then go for a hike, or hike first and reward yourself after.
  • Coldwater Coffeehouse & Bakery in historic Avondale (about 6.5 miles) is worth the short drive. It has scratch-made pastries and house-made syrups, and it grows its own vegetables out back.

More Than a Cup of Coffee

The best part of a neighborhood coffee shop isn’t really the coffee. It’s the barista who knows your order, the neighbor you run into in line, and the family-owned place you end up telling everyone about. That’s the kind of community La Privada is built around.

At La Privada, you’ll find nearly 300 single-story homes with RV garage options and Next Gen suites for multigenerational living, starting in the $400s. It’s close to everything that makes a place feel like home, including your next favorite coffee shop in Goodyear, AZ.
