How is my home built? How can I tell what progress has been made?
Explained below are the major stages of your home's construction.
The layout of your home is created- a footprint of your home is laid out and panels are arranged to outline where the concrete will be poured.
The underground plumbing for your home is installed
Cables are laid down for post tension and concrete is poured.
Framing Stage: The exterior walls are constructed, followed by the interior walls. Next, the roof is constructed.
All windows are installed. This is also the point during which all plumbing, electrical and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) is installed.
Insulation is installed throughout the house.
Drywall is hung after the insulation is set.
The interior and exterior of the home is painted. All cabinetry is also installed.
The next stage is referred to as ‘Finishing Trim’. This is where such items as countertops, toilets, faucets, light switches, and AC vents are installed.
Finally, the flooring (carpet, tile, vinyl, etc.) is installed.
The last stage of building your home is the "final touch-up" This is where the construction superintendent will diligently inspect your home to ensure that everything has been done corrrectly.
When the HOW (homeowner walk-through) is completed, you are ready to move into your new Scott home!
